Anahata
Welcome

The Anahata Yoga Center, located at 16 Center St., Suite 527, in the center of Downtown Northampton, and in later years at the Eastworks building in Easthampton, MA, opened its doors on July 15, 1999 as the very first Center for Anusara Yoga in the Greater Northeast.

Founded by Deb Neubauer, the 16th teacher to be Certified in Anusara and one of the initial 7 Teacher Trainers in the method, the Anahata Yoga Center offered weekly classes, weekend workshops, Principles Courses, Immersions and Teacher Training programs in the Anusara method for 9 years.

Following the birth of her daughter, Deb also began traveling extensively for weekend workshops and teacher training programs. By 2006, it became necessary for Deb to start concentrating time and energy resources more efficiently. On March 15, 2008, The Anahata Yoga Center closed its official doors. It no longer exists as a Yoga Center with a specific location, but its mission continues.

Anahata Yoga, as the essence of Deb’s teaching, remains committed to promoting the teachings of the Indian Spiritual Tantric Traditions as tools for transformation and empowerment. The essence of Anahata’s mission is empowerment. Behind the vision of Anahata is the certainty that EVERY human heart holds exquisite and magnificent light, beauty and authenticity. The task and promise of Yoga is to assist the joyful unveiling of this light and beauty as an act of service in and for the world.

The essence of Deb’s teaching provides an invitation to awaken to these truths: that beauty and magnificence are ones Divinely given birthright; that your heart is the vessel that holds the magnificent power and Radiant Light of your True Self. Through Deb’s skillful guidance, every class becomes an exploration into the art of revealing the light of one’s true essence and the cultivation of the skill of unfolding one’s inner being and purpose as an act of joyful service in and for the world.

Thank you for visiting this website. I hope you’ll enjoy reading about the Anahata Yoga Center, about Anusara Yoga, and Deb’s workshop, Immersion, retreat and Teacher Training offerings.

Here’s a beautiful blessing, written by the poet-author
John O’Donohue in his book, Anam Cara: A book of Celtic Wisdom:

May the light of your soul mind you,
May all of your worry and anxiousness about becoming old
be transfigured,
May you be given a wisdom with the eye of your soul,
To see this beautiful time of harvesting.
May you have the commitment to harvest your life,
To heal what has hurt you, to allow it to come closer to you
And become one with you.
May you have great dignity, may you have a sense of how
free you are,
And above all may you be given the wonderful gift of meeting
the eternal light
And beauty that is within you.
May you be blessed, and may you find a wonderful love
in yourself for yourself.

Satprema,
Deb Neubauer
