Welcome to the Home Page for Deb Neubauer - Certified Anusara Yoga Instructor, E-RYT-500, and Pioneer Valley Karma Krew Chief.

The Anahata Yoga Center, located at 16 Center St., Suite 527, in the center of Downtown Northampton, and in later years at the Eastworks building in Easthampton, MA, opened its doors on July 15, 1999 and remained open until March 15, 2008.

Founded by Deb Neubauer, the 16th teacher to be Certified in Anusara and one of the initial 7 Teacher Trainers in the method, the Anahata Yoga Center was the first Anusara Yoga Center in the greater Northeast US (north of NYC). For 9 years, we offered weekly classes, workshops, Principles Courses (Early Immersions) Immersions and Teacher Training programs in the Anusara method. In 2003, Deb began traveling extensively. After the birth of her daughter Sonai Kalea, it became necessary for Deb to start concentrating time and energy resources more efficiently.

On March 15, 2008, The Anahata Yoga Center closed its official doors. It no longer exists as a Yoga Center with a specific location, but Deb continues to travel throughout the North East US., Canada, Europe, and soon in Mexico and Latin America, offering the teachings of Anusara with an open and joyous heart.

Thank you for visiting this website. I hope you'll enjoy reading about the Anahata Yoga Center, about Anusara Yoga, and Deb's workshop, Immersion, retreat and Teacher Training offerings.

Here's a beautiful blessing, written by the poet-author John O'Donohue in his book, Anam Cara: A book of Celtic Wisdom:

May the light of your soul mind you,
May all of your worry and anxiousness about becoming old be transfigured,
May you be given a wisdom with the eye of your soul,
To see this beautiful time of harvesting.
May you have the commitment to harvest your life,
To heal what has hurt you, to allow it to come closer to you
And become one with you.
May you have great dignity, may you have a sense of how free you are,
And above all may you be given the wonderful gift of meeting the eternal light
And beauty that is within you.
May you be blessed, and may you find a wonderful love
in yourself for yourself.

About the name Anahata:

Anahata is the name of the Heart Chakra, the center of spiritual energy in the body that surrounds and governs the vital functioning of the heart.

Anahata means "Sound that is made without any two things striking". It can also mean unstruck, unhurt, fresh and clean. It's emphasis is on moving into Harmony, taking our place as Conscious beings in a cosmic order that is pulsating with Consciousness. The heart center, Anahata Chakra, is the center of love, the central point in the physical and spiritual bodies. It is the place of our core, the inner essence that unites our mind, body and spirit; our place on earth as human beings with our longing to know something greater. The symbol for the heart chakra is a circle of 12 lotus petals surrounding 2 intersecting triangles forming a 6-pointed star. The triangles represent the descent of spirit into the body and the ascent of matter as it rises toward spirit. Spirit and matter, earth and sky meet in the heart and combine to form a star that radiates outward.
